WELCOME TO FLIGHTSIM REPAINT...

I've been repainting aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator for over one and a half years, and have picked up many useful skills along the way. If you want professional-quality paint jobs, you've come to the right place.

New look...

What do you think of the new look for the website? I decided to change it after noticing that the main page looked crappy on widescreen monitors, which almost everyone has now (right?). My birthday is in 2 more days, so, yeah, I'm still not doing anything. Don't even ask what I'm doing. Let me now what y'all think.

Greetings from the planet Earth...

Okay, no, really...uh, it's the last day of January, of course we all know, and I still haven't come out with anything this month. Let me explain...Last month, I of course took some time off for the holidays, and didn't do anything, really. Then at the beginning of this month, my laptop crashed, and I lost some of the work that I HAD done. SimViation of course was a total pain, and Avsim wasn't much better. 737 pack never made it to market, and the A321 is still a horrible plane. (Okay, now the explaining.) I haven't been posting anything lately because I've been busy working on some paint jobs for Galaxy Virtual Airlines. You by any chance see the one with the custom logo and black streaks? That's mine. Yep, I did that paint, and I'm still working on more at the moment. But, all that aside, I've also been going through a lot this month, it's pretty much nothing but one huge problem (NO WAY! I have problems? Never would have guessed THAT!). First month back in high school from Christmas? All the teachers say "HEY! Free homework for a millennium! That's right! All homework is on sale, everything must go home!" Okay, back to seriousness. With my birthday approaching next week, you can bet I'm going to blow off pretty much everything that I need to get done. That includes stuff for FSR. But, don't worry, I'll be back to my normal routine (the one where I actually do stuff, that is) shortly. Just be patient, I'm a procrastinator anyway, so there's not much else you can do. So, to sum it up, I'm lazy when it comes to anything involving work. Oh well, see you all in six months!

(Nah, just kidding, two weeks, tops.)

Screwed by technology...yet again...

I've been gone a while yet again, but technology decided it would be fun to play a little joke on me, and so it made my laptop crash, which, sorry to say, is the computer I use to do repaints...and so, I lost about everything. But, FEAR NOT! I managed to save a few things from their untimely corruption. One of those things was the 737 pack (which I'll get to in a moment), the other being an older repaint for the 747, which has already been released.

Now to the 737 pack...

For some reason the folks at AVSIM decided to refuse my upload for the lack of information that was ironically not needed...don't really know why yet. I may try to re-upload the 737 pack to that site again later, or I may just skip it all together and find yet another site (or I may stay with Simviation for now). Anyway, sorry for the delays, hoping to get back on track in the coming weeks...

'Till then,
¡Hasta luego!

Edit: For a topic unrelated to this blog, who else heard about Conan O'Brien getting bumped to midnight? Sucks huh?

Moving files to different website..

Like the title says, I'll be moving all of my downloads over to avsim or another flight simulation website. I recently discovered that Simviation doesn't seem to like Windows 7, or it just plain sucks because downloads don't work. So, yeah, that's strike 3 for SimV. You'll have to excuse me if I don't get anything done during this time since I'll be transferring all the files over to a different site.
Oh, almost forgot, I finished with the 737 service pack and corrected some previous repaints. I think I'll be uploading the pack to avsim as a test for that site...so, anyway, I'll post when it's available.

Back again...

I fell down on the job, I admit. I was busy preparing for finals during most of the month, and I decided to take some time off for Christmas break. Anyway, I'm posting today to announce a service pack for all of my 737-800 repaints. I'll be releasing them all in one large downloadable archive, but due to how large the file could be, I may be releasing it through a site other than Simviation, such as megaupload, or another file hosting site. Also, I'll be picking up my cockpit texture upgrades after the start of the new year. The A321 upgrade should be available sometime around January 1oth or so, I'll let you know when after I finish the textures. Also, the A321 pack will contain a set of code to correct the issues with view positioning in the virtual cockpit that you experience with the aircraft at it's default. So, anyway, look for the 738 pack sometime near the end of next week, and the A321 pack a week or two later. Until then, have a happy new year!

Next repaint coming Sunday...

I missed the last few releases because I've been loaded with pre-Thanksgiving break projects and homework, and I've also been modeling a new plane for FSX. I have no guarantee that I'll ever be able to get it working, it's hard to model with GMAX. But, so far, here's what it's looking like:
Anyway, the next paint is another 772 job. I've repainted the POSKY 772 in the old Northwest Airlines colors. I'll be doing one more 772 repaint, you'll see what it is after next Thursday.
Have a good thanksgiving.

POSKY 772 American Airlines

It's about time that someone came out with a good American Airlines paint for FS2004/FSX. Here at FSR, I've been working for the past two weeks to make an American Airlines livery for the Project Open Sky 777-200. Unlike many other American Airlines paints, this one is made completely from scratch, not from photos, so as to make the textures completely reflective to the environment. Also, it makes the repaint compatible with dynamic lighting and shading system of FSX. This paint works with FS2004 as well. However, this hasn't been tested with FSX Gold or Accelleration, nor has it been tested with Direct X 10 or Service pack 2. Support will not be provided for this addon.
